All natural, beauty boosting 1-ingredient smoothie? Sign me up!

Today’s post is sweet and to the point.

We’ve all heard an apple a day keeps the doctor away and thats all fine a dandy, but looks like we need to add watermelon to that regimen!

Are you a 20 something, 30 something, hell, 60 something, hoping to find the fountain of youth or an affordable, natural way to enhance your skincare routine?

According to Dr. Payman Danielpour with Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Group, watermelon is key, and the proof, is in a 1-ingredient slushy!

You don’t have to tell me twice, Mom and I have been downing watermelon smoothies (not ODing on them, just enjoying one post-dinner everyday lol) since Monday, when Dr. Danielpour’s gem of a newsletter popped into our inboxes.

This Bev Hills doc says evidence shows a smoothie made of ice and watermelon is full of age-fighting and cancer-fighting antioxidants, vitamins that are essential in producing collagen, electrolytes that flush your body of toxins, and so much more!

Check out Danielpour’s take below:

“If you want to know the easiest way to make a powerhouse beauty smoothie — look no further.

Because the recipe I’m going to share with you today only requires ONE ingredient!

(Well, two if you count ice cubes.)

Ready for it?

All you have to do is fill your blender with:

• 3 parts fresh watermelon chunks

• 1 part ice

Pulverize… and drink up.

But don’t be fooled by its simplicity — this recipe boasts an insanenumber of head-to-toe benefits.

Because, believe it or not, WATERMELON is one of the most potent beauty superfoods around!

What makes it so special, you ask?

#1. Watermelon is uniquely rich in both vitamins C and E.

The former is essential to your body’s production of collagen, while the latter helps skin maintain its youthful elasticity...

So adding this tasty fruit to your diet is a great way to help slow the appearance of both sagging skin AND wrinkles at the same time!

#2. It also contains A & B vitamins, potassium, and magnesium… all of which play an important role in keeping your skin healthy and energized at the cellular level.

#3. It’s chock full of LYCOPENE.

Lycopene is a very powerful age-fighting antioxidant — and watermelon has more of it than any other fruit or vegetable.

(Yes, even more than tomatoes!)

#4. Despite its dense nutrient content, watermelon is actually 90% WATER...

So, on top of nourishing your skin with vitamins and minerals, it helps keep you nice and hydrated too.

Which makes it one of the best foods for a healthy, glowing complexion!

#5. Watermelon is full of electrolytes that help flush harmful toxins OUT of your body.

Now, this is very beneficial to your health in general — but it can significantly improve your appearance as well.

For one, when your organs aren’t overloaded with “junk,” your body is better able to absorb and distribute vital nutrients to your skin.

And if you’re trying to slim down this summer — guess what?

Flushing excess build-up from your system can make your body feel lighter and leaner too!

(Plus, since watermelon is surprisingly filling, it can help curb snack cravings and hunger throughout the day as well.)

Pretty impressive for just one ingredient, don’t you think?

So, whether your goal is younger-looking skin, a slimmer waistline — or both — I recommend drinking this watermelon smoothie at least 3-4 times a week.

It’s ultra-refreshing, ridiculously easy to make, and lets you enjoy a hefty serving of watermelon... even when you’re on the go!

So be sure to add this summer favorite to your grocery list — and I’ll be back with more “look younger” tips very soon :)

P.S. If you want to dress this recipe up a bit, feel free to add a teaspoon of lemon juice and a pinch of fresh mint leaves to the mix.

(This will give your blend a super-fresh, slightly tangy taste — while boosting its vitamin C and A content even further.)

Of course, you could stir in a few drops of honey for a little extra sweetness as well…

But you really don’t need to — that ripe, juicy watermelon is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth all by itself!”

Now of course, its always best to do you own research.
